We still have that Mercury-Mars opposition going on, but there is a bright side. The Moon is in Leo through Friday.

There is a lot of thinking going on right now. So much consideration might make you restless and even a bit intolerant whether it is of someone else or of yourself. Have you ever felt like you might explode from impatience or even anticipation if things don’t begin to happen? This kind of energy can show up more like the feeling you have when you are stuck in traffic, then the feel you had when you were a kid, sitting at the head of the kitchen table in front of a slew of birthday presents.

Over the weekend, see if you can shift from the “Come on, come on. MOVE!” narrative. You know the one.  It is where you think nobody else is in a hurry too. It is the one where you might even feel like you are loosing respect for others or yourself. Shift out of that storyline and into the one where June Cleaver is your mom. You know June won’t make you wait that long before you can dive into all that you’ve been imagining is in store for you.

Resist arguing with others and yourself. Take it easy. Use your breath. Breath in for the count of 4, hold it for 2, and exhale for 6. Feel your feet on the ground. Feel your feet on the ground. And as Sister Anthony always said, “Three times and it is yours,” so one more time – feel your feet on the ground.

Lighten up. Let the sun shine. See the big picture. Keep that perspective. Because otherwise, it might be a lot of drama.

In the midst of what you see as problematic, it can be difficult to recognize the opportunities. I can help you discover a new way of thinking that will assist you in managing and negotiating life’s obstacles. You will find that this new way of thinking provides you opportunities that you hadn’t previously noticed as well as affords you the confidence and desire to live your life in the driver’s seat.

On Friday we have a new moon in Sagittarius. Jupiter ruled Sag is always about doing it big and coupled with a new moon there is a good chance for taking things over the top. But before we even get to minding that, we have a hard aspect around Scorpio that involves Pluto.

Hmm, think of the Gulf oil explosion that erupted from over 5,000 feet beneath the water’s surface.  Yay, that is some impressive pressure, but don’t loose faith.  This aspect may bring up some really deep stuff, but there is good news.  There is always yang to the yin, and this aspect also provides the opportunity for transformation too, and it is followed by that sugar daddy of a new moon, to boot!  This means clearing out some really old stuff and making way for the new.

Okay, here is the scoop.  This energy will leave little room for thinking. It is likely to stir up deep feelings about old themes. These are your propencities, the stories you like to tell when you are getting ready for a pity party. You know the ones- the likes of – nobody loves me, think I’ll eat some worms. So what are you going to do? Who do you really want to be when you grow up?

Remember, even if you don’t notice this energy it is likely you will be bumping into others who do. So what are you going to do? My suggestion? Believe in yourself. Believe you can find opportunities in the obstacles of life. Believe in your purpose here. Take the struggle and pay it forward. Pay it forward in the currency of trust. Trust in your purpose and the purpose of a higher purpose.

Breathe in for 4, hold it for 2, and exhale for 6. Practice this just 3 times and let yourself have a little bit more space and time so that you can organize your mind to support the actions that provide you with the reality you want. Put a little air in your tires and get back on that bike. It can feel mighty good to be up and moving with some sense of independence and purpose as you ride off into the sunset.

This month will be a lot about education. Funny that it coincides with the start of school, but whether you are in school or not, you are likely going to be learning a lot this month. The Saturn transit will move into Sagittarius later this month.  The generosity of Sagittarius and its ruling planet Jupiter, will bring a good focus to life lessons. Some may be hard lessons or lessons you may have been hard-headed about learning. Some will be lessons you’ve been studying for sometime.  Whatever the lesson, this week is a good time to prepare for the coming classroom.

I have a re-occurring dream. It shows up when I am tackling a big problem. In the dream, I am back in school riding the school bus. Well, not quite riding it!  In the dream, I miss the bus and end up at school late.  Only to discover, that I didn’t do my homework. I feel terribly desperate in the dream. Riddled with self-judgment and fearful of the judgment of others. I for one am certainly am not interested in that reality, and I bet you aren’t either.

Instead, go ahead this week and get clear about what you are working on. Mind the distractions of judgement about being on time. Let yourself appreciate the pace you have been keeping. It will be easier to change your pace, if you give yourself credit for the work you have done. There is no value in diminishing your motivation with cross looks from the “teacher.” If you would like to pick up the pace, accelerate your study and get on the bus – now is the time to plan for it. If not, that is important to know and perfectly okay.

How to prepare this week: Take some time each day this week. Just a few minutes in the middle of your busy life. Use your breath to shift over to your creative side. Breathe in for the count of 4, hold it for 2, and exhale for 6. Practice this breath just 3 times, return to your normal breathing, and then let yourself go. Go within yourself and first, consider where you’d like to be at the end of this year. Let yourself really see it. It will be like a movie in your head.  You won’t have to think about it, it will just show up for you. Then, once that is clear to you, begin to see the road that takes you to this place you want to go. Look for the bus stops along the way. There are many and they run regularly, so you don’t need to worry or show up in your pajamas without your homework!

This week the emphasis will be around family. You might feel nostalgic for mother with a great desire for comfort and attachment. You may really want to be a part of something this week. As the week progresses, the universal vibration is good for “belonging.” Remember that mother can be Mother. If, for some reason, your biological mother is unavailable (or unsuitable), rest assured that Mother or The Great Other is abundant and readily available. You can find her everywhere. Mind limiting your ideas about family. If you like, let your ideas about family be as big as you like. Imagine everyone you meet this week as a part of your family. See what that feels like.

This week’s moon in Taurus favors the natural beauty of Mother Earth and your natural relationship to her through your own creativity. Mars in Cancer will collaborate with Neptune and dynamically expand your vision. It is okay to think big, because you come from a really big and supportive family. You might want to let go of your longing. You might breathe in belonging and create a reality that supports you. It will likely feel good. Mind any desire to take control. It is a big family you come from and there is no controlling it, but there is influence and you may do very well to collaborate this week. The path is varied this week and it is okay to meander a bit. Find a way to trust in your own vision. It is a risk, but well worth it. The end of the week may provide you great faith in yourself if you allow it.

Remember: Respect the space, you are a steward of the universe.

Joe Webb as Yoda copy

The Uranus Pluto square continues and it is epic this week with Mars squaring Pluto while opposing Uranus. We have been faced with the Uranus square Pluto since 2012 and will see it through 2015. Uranus and Pluto have been called the ambassadors of the Galaxy. They invite us to go beyond the known and awaken our consciousness. The square provides the potential for serious discovery of what we have suppressed or of what we could become. There is no stopping it now, what’s been stuffed down and denied is spilling out.

This weeks additional aspect of Mars square Pluto might add elements of danger and trauma. Be on the look out for crisis junkies and mind your own need for drama. This reckless and even predatorial energy is best used by slowing it way down. Take the middle seat, practice the patience to see danger coming, and mindfully manage what would otherwise become abusive.

Now throw in the Mars opposition Uranus and sparks may fly. This energy is assertive, aggressive and maybe combative. Mind your need to argue, play devils advocate or simply let your passion to win get the best of you under this aspect. Personal freedom will be a big theme here. Slow it down and get good perspective before you get up on that high horse.

This week you will definitely benefit from slowing down your own physiology. BREATHE. Breathe in for 4 counts, hold it for 2, and exhale for 6. Practice just 3 times and return to your normal breath. It will slow it down so you can see what’s coming and do what you want to do with it. This week there might not be much room for trying so just do it. DO transmute your wild west instincts and channel the master within. As Yoda said, “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”

I have been holding off on writing about the universal energies because it’s just been tough! But we are getting a break today, so breath it in deeply. I mean deeply. Enjoy it in your bones. Really let yourself appreciate it. Today, you might experience “The more mindful I am, the better I feel.” In other words, be disciplined today and it will pay off.

By Saturday afternoon, The Moon will leave Virgo for Libra on Saturday, fueling that Cardinal grand cross that we all have been bearing. There is still a lot of tension around “What I want and what we can agree to.” Sound familiar? Your feelings might get hurt and you might be asking, “Whose fault is this?”

“It is your fault? Is it my fault? Are you mean or am I controlling?”

Breathe. Take it in for 4 counts, hold it for 2, and exhale for 6. Remember, we all have the capacity to project our feelings onto others and when the energy gets tight for too long – it happens. Breathe. Expand your field. Get good perspective. Take in the big picture. Mind your tendency of old thinking patterns.

If you do this, you will be well prepare for the full moon in Scorpio while Venus squares Pluto. This plays out on Wednesday, May 14. You will benefit from this energy by staying focused. Utilize the mantra, “What do I really want? How do I make that happen?”

Remember: Your thoughts inform your emotions, your emotions inform your physiology and then you move through the world literally creating your own reality. Be sure you are making what you want!

tatoo love self

What are the hardest things to love about you? Something you’ve done? Something you are doing? A way you feel or think? What does it feel like to even allow yourself to consider what these things might be? What do you think of how you feel about it?

Give yourself a chance. Take a moment and write down as many of these as you can. I know, stay with me though. Go ahead and make the list as quickly as possible with as little thought possible to what you are writing down.

The hardest things for me to love about myself are:

Now, look at the list. As you look at it, you might be able to appreciate why you belief that someone like yourself is not deserving of genuine love. You might notice your own aversion to the list and then to yourself. This resistance can cause you to become fractured, rejecting the “unloveable” parts of yourself.

Take another moment. For yourself, take another moment. Breathe. Ask the question, “Why did I …?” and allow yourself to sit still. Go ahead and be with that of which you resist. Allow it to grow bigger within you. Really feel what you are fighting. Notice how complicated it is. Allow yourself to learn “why.” Breathe. Ask the question, “What do I want to do about what I just learned?”

For example: A man is very critical of his wife’s interactions with other men at social gatherings. He thinks she pays too much attention to other men when she should be paying attention to him. The man does not like that he feels angry towards his wife when he thinks about the times when he believed she didn’t pay enough attention to him. He realizes that when he feels this way, he is thinking that she doesn’t love him enough and that makes him angry. When he asks himself why, he learns that he is afraid she will abandon him. He realizes that this feeling is a familiar one with it’s roots reaching deeply into his past. At this juncture, he can decide what HE wants to do about it. He can appreciate his own responsibility for this feeling, consider that relief from the feelings has little-to-nothing to do with his wife, and set about doing something different- forgiving and loving himself. By directly confronted his underlying fear, he can release himself from the thought pattern that was supporting a hidden belief of unworthiness. The belief of unloveable.

Thinking of yourself as unworthy of love is a thought. If you think it over and over it becomes a belief. Beliefs guide our thoughts, thoughts inform our emotions, and emotions inform our physiology. This is how you make a thought your reality, you believe it is so and you literally create it’s existence, first in your own body. It is nice to know that any thought can be replaced by a different thought, and therefore changing your world- and then the world. One thought at a time.

So now, adjust your thought of being fundamentally flawed and unworthy of love with the thought, that regardless of your past experiences, you can now take full responsibility for your life. Use the power of this to attract love into your life. When you are able to accomplish this, you will feel differently about yourself, and other people will feel differently about you. Love is a healing energy. Bring your consciousness to it. Recognize exactly what you are resisting, and recognize IT as what stands between you and the experience of love. Ask yourself, “What do I want to do about that?” And then, do it!

March 23, 2014

You may have noticed it has been tough lately. The energy has been tight and at times very pressured. It has been a roller coaster of this, this year, and it looks like it will be faithful to this pattern right up until we close 2013.

It helps to remember that life is changing and shifting all the time. And so, despite the pattern of 2013, there have been and will be breaks in it. Eventually it will evolve into something else, as nothing is forever.

Mars leaves Cancer for Leo today. This is an improvement as Mars functions well in a Fire sign. However, it’ll be squared by Saturn in Scorpio.

The combination of Mars and Saturn has a frightful reputation in astrology. It can be thought as a signature of cruelty.

To fare well this week, focus hard on getting past whatever is blocking you. Push back against the pressure thoughtfully or you run the risk of it bulldozing right over you.

This is a good week to hold your fire unless you’re really up for a battle. Be sure you are up for this, as if you do get involved in a conflict, the damage could be extensive.

Breathe. Keep your feet on the ground. Pay attention to the things that matter to you. Consider staying clear of the rest. Remember where you are headed. Make decisions in your best interest!

Sweet goat

Your head smelled sweet as fresh cut hay.
S w e e t,
Like a new born baby
Smells soft and full and round.
The top of your bony head

Between your ears,
The sweet orchard honey scent.
The space
Between your eyes,
Your forehead –
A summer morning’s bouquet.

Each night, I took a sniff
And a kiss,
And then another.
Drinking in your aura –
This wonderful spirit.
My nightly drug.

My inspiration taken in with deep pitch
And for duration.
The rising hiss of an “s” sound,
Ahhhh on exhalation.
Eau de parfume,
Old goat.

What rosey reckoning are you?
Mother fostering Zeus.
Ancient companion,
Tagged with human suffering,
And sent off in sacrifice.

I am grateful
Of your steady,
Sure footed nature
On an unforgiving march
To the mountain top.

My nightly talisman.
A Lovely lovey.
A rub and a sniff
For good luck
Breathing it, in like God’s grace.

March 2013

The sky continues to be dominated by planets in Taurus as we head into the Thursday’s solar eclipse in Taurus. We have been feeling this push and pull energy for a bit. Hold tight, you may continue to notice the stress of it this week. It can feel like a tight rope or a line to toe. It can feel restricting to notice this and interpret it as leaving you little room for error. Use your breath to expand your field and give yourself more time and space.

Be mindful of Taurus’s influence for self-indulgence while Saturn is bearing down hard for control. Notice the tendency for all or nothing thinking. Stay on course and ride it out, like the wave of energy that it is. Use your breath and the intention “To stay in the flow”. Surprisingly, it is these times that teach us our true strength, abilities, and purpose.

And if you are not noticing the tension, go ahead and harness it’s power.
