How many sentiments

Tender and soft-hearted

Fit on a sheet of red paper

Cleanly cut

After folded in two?

How many long and deliberate strides to shear out our hearts?

The crisp cardboard rasp

The blade sounding

Against the vellum

Yielding and permissive to measured cuts.

How many pecks between us these 12054 days?

Pink candied smooches

Boxed,

And blushed rosy

Our sweet discontent?

How many white moon faced nights

Did, by chance,

Round us up with scissored bodies and

Laced our swelling hearts

In fire and in fate?

Oh,

I can not say,

The numbered times did hands

Pen fancy whorls upon the naked breast

And finger ringlets of hair.

But alas,

I do reckon one white parcel

Knotted in fat, red yarn

That unwrapped

Such a child’s faith.

He came to me in a green dream,
Lush tall grasses and fresh forage.
His hurt brown face
Right up to mine —
A curious child, cautioned.

The walls of the dream fell away
Taking the dark stained cedar barn
Where my son and I helped his mother.
Sweet and eternally scented,
Timothy and alfalfa.

I reached in,
Like picking a surprise
Elbow deep inside.
Backwards he came.
I pulled him out slippery and warm.

Face to face,
Like the time I cradled him,
A soft dreamy lullaby,
Rocked him to sleep in my daughter’s room
Soothing his baby belly.

It is all a happy dream.
Us striding along the path well traveled,
Side by side.
His hard-headed way,
The unexpected ram.

originalThese days it may seem as if it has never been truer that the probability of survival is equal to the angle of arrival.  While it may have been said that flying is the second greatest thrill known to humans, landing is the first!

We have a lunar eclipse pending in Leo tonight. I am looking forward to it. I could use a lift from the same old news and Leo is just the creative entrepreneur I want when I am figuring how to get around the turbulence of my old patterns and history.

Saturn is aspected in Sagittarius for this eclipse. Argh!  What a drag.  My “around the world, free as a bird, solo flight” will now be chaperoned with the harsh  judgments of a “straighten up and fly right” kind of bird.  This is going to require some major wind beneath my wings in order to make any progress.

I hear you, why is there always a drag? I know, who wants a drag?  But that drag serves purpose in the aerodynamics of ascension.  It creates a necessity to welcome one thing while embracing another. The trajectory forward is found through the resistance of the two opposed energies. The resistance can provide balance until we have momentum in what can be, the choppy blue yonder.

Mind feeling that resistance as a force against you, particularly one that you imagine you need to defend yourself from.  Instead, remember that the resistance is going to allow you to move forward.  It is not what you think.  It is not holding you back, it is there to get you up and going!

This month, consider practicing in tandem with the resistance and take off and land from the high ground.

  1. Change your mind to feel comfortable with the benefits of resistance.
  2. Mind thinking about changing other people’s minds until you have changed yours.
  3. Get clear AND curious (no judgment) about what you want.
  4. Simotaneously respect your ideas and those that seemingly oppose your ideas.
  5. Find the tension between the seemingly opposed and utilize that tension as common ground for take off and landing.

Afterall, flying is undoubtedly an adventure in discovery, but a good take off and a safe landing can’t be beat.

screen-shot-2013-12-02-at-09-28-43-554x523Parting is such sweet sorrow. There is so much desire in the ending of something. The desire to create something new. The desire to return to something unfinished. The desire for change. Desire is the catalyst for creation. When desire operates from a space of love the creation is charged with great significance and embodied with both humanity and divinity.

The planets are aligned under the new moon cycle to provide you with great wisdom at the turning over of time from 2016 to 2017. Use this as an awakening for a great and deliberate desire to make something that makes the world spin steadily on her axis. Deliver into the New Year a perspective that inspires.

That’s all. That is it. That is all I have to say. Go on now. Go do it.

I’ll see you doing it in 2017. I will be beside you doing it, too!  Together we’ll take that cup of kindness for all of auld lang syne and make a meaningful future of it.

Baby it is cold out there! Mercury goes retrograde today. Expect some breakdown in communication. Mars leaves Aquarius for Pisces. Pay attention. This aspect can make it easy to slip on your own black ice. Aries is moving into Uranus; you know what that is like. It is the shocking reality that you stepped on the black ice, but there is no turning back. You are gonna fall! The Moon in Virgo is square to Saturn in Sagittarius. As your feet sweep out from under you, you might see all your past misgivings in high definition.  All your failings, all your falters.  This energy can get you thinking about a lot of unhelpful things you believe about yourself.

Get some perspective for the coming week. Bundle up in self-love and, like a canary, sing your heart out. It is the best way to meet what might become an avalanche of self-loathing. Mind boarding the boat for the island of misfit toys and making it all about you. Self-pity can be like black ice – you can’t see it, but it will knock you on your backside. And you will surely feel unsupported in that cold hard world. But hey, sometimes we find our best footing after a hard fall. So rest assured, even if you do slip into all that, you can get up, brush yourself off, and mind your blind spots on the retake. Mind getting stuck in the snow show.

Take two: It is Christmas time. You gotta believe in the generosity of Santa. Do your best to do unto others as they would like to be done unto. That is right, treat others as they would like to be treated, yourself included.  Skate through this energy with the agility and grace of Dorothy Hamill in the 1976 Olympics.

I read an article today about Benjaman Kyle, a man who really forgot who he was. It was timely to a recent conversation where a fellow healer asked me, “Have you forgotten who you are? I think you might have.” She continued, “Remember when I forgot who I was? And I didn’t even know I forgot? And all I kept thinking was that I didn’t know who I was anymore. And you said, ‘Maybe you aren’t forgetting who you are as much as you are remembering better who you have always been.'” “I said that?” I asked her. “Yes, you did. And you were right. So maybe I am right in suggesting that you have forgotten who you are, when really what I mean to say is that you are feeling confused, because you are now remembering better who you have always been.” I thought about what she said, “Maybe you are right,” I said and she said back, “Maybe you are right.”

Jeez! That could be confusing if it didn’t make sense.

Just a week into December and Mercury is headed towards retrograde in Virgo. The Sun and Saturn in Sagittarius squared the Moon, Chiron, and Neptune in Pisces and there is a stellium in Capricorn. If you had any fantasies about who you really are, you might be feeling toasty warm with your feet to the fire. Things are getting real. As Dorothy was told, “You aren’t in Kansas anymore.”

The pieces are sliding into place, whether you like it or not you are seeing yourself more clearly. The Moon will hit Aries, and Venus will enter Aquarius today with Jupiter opposing Uranus. This may allow you to shift out of fantasy into reality with creativity on your side. In other words, it can be interesting, fun even, to see who you are. Surrender Dorothy! Surrender to the true nature of yourself. Do what you will with the flying monkeys because there is no place like home. Going home is a remembering of who you are; sometimes on the way there you might think you have forgotten who you are, but you are really remembering better who you have always been.

dali-metamorphosis

Metamorphosis of Narcissus 1937 by Salvador Dalí 1904-1989

Things are moving fast behind the scenes right now. You might notice some sensations of this seeping in. It feels uncomfortable. It feels scary. And just so you know, closing your eyes won’t make it go away. In fact just the opposite is true.

I had a dream recently, really it was a nightmare. In the dream, I was met at every turn with perversity. And then I came to a crossroads of sorts. There were two doors. I had two choices. The door to my left was familiar to me. I knew it led to a place that went deeper and deeper into itself. I knew that if I walked the halls of that place, it would morph from a school, to a hospital, to a hotel. I knew that in that place I was always too late and then I always had to wait. That place was always changing, but it was always the same. In my dream I thought, “That place goes no where.”

The door to the right was substantial. It was made of solid old growth oak. It looked inviting, but as I got closer something didn’t feel right. In fact something felt terribly wrong. I turned around and looked from where I had come. That was no good either. The streets behind me were apocalyptic. I was stuck. I couldn’t go to the left, or the right, and I certainly couldn’t turn around.

I am in hell, I thought and the only possible way out was the way I was afraid to explore. I breathed deeply and carefully pushed the big door open just a crack. Yep. As I suspected it was utter and complete darkness, an eternity of pitch black. I looked back to the infernal streets filled with smoke from the fires of hell. There were malevolent people on the hills and zombies in the streets. I was at some edge of darkness. What choice did I have?

I stepped inside the door into the nothingness. There was nothing but nothing. There was nothing at my feet, I hovered in the blackness. Without something beneath my feet it was impossible to advance forward. My heart was racing and my breath was labored. “Breathe,” I told myself. “You can do this,” I counseled even in my sleep. I told myself, “Look into the darkness. Let yourself adjust and see what you can see.” And so I did.

Was there no hope?  Was I to be completely impoverished?  In the utter blackness, it was a horror show. It couldn’t have been worse if it had been Hieronymus Bosch’s Last Judgement. In my dream, I was paralyzed by the fear of some pointed reckoning that seemed to have an infinite trajectory. “Open your eyes,” I told myself. “If you want out of hell, open your eyes.”

The moon has shifted from Scorpio and into Sagittarius. In the thick of it there is always hope of a promising new reality. If the Scorpio energy has lured you deep into your own darkness, the New Moon in Sagittarius can signal you out into our own light. Pay attention with the acute senses of the blind, and then open your eyes to the information you have afforded yourself. See where you are. Find your feet even in the darkest of nights. Get good balance for perspective on your future.

There is no going back. There never was. The past only turns within itself and the future is only an idea of something not yet known. Don’t make it a nightmare. Don’t be an addict. Don’t hang out at crossroads for long. You can have more than two choices. Open your eyes to the dawn of this day. This is where you live your life. Not in the damnation of your past, not in the fear of the unknown future. Right here. Right now. Open your eyes. Open your eyes and move forward.

I can help you discover a new way of thinking that will assist you in managing and negotiating life’s obstacles.
