I read an article today about Benjaman Kyle, a man who really forgot who he was. It was timely to a recent conversation where a fellow healer asked me, “Have you forgotten who you are? I think you might have.” She continued, “Remember when I forgot who I was? And I didn’t even know I forgot? And all I kept thinking was that I didn’t know who I was anymore. And you said, ‘Maybe you aren’t forgetting who you are as much as you are remembering better who you have always been.'” “I said that?” I asked her. “Yes, you did. And you were right. So maybe I am right in suggesting that you have forgotten who you are, when really what I mean to say is that you are feeling confused, because you are now remembering better who you have always been.” I thought about what she said, “Maybe you are right,” I said and she said back, “Maybe you are right.”

Jeez! That could be confusing if it didn’t make sense.

Just a week into December and Mercury is headed towards retrograde in Virgo. The Sun and Saturn in Sagittarius squared the Moon, Chiron, and Neptune in Pisces and there is a stellium in Capricorn. If you had any fantasies about who you really are, you might be feeling toasty warm with your feet to the fire. Things are getting real. As Dorothy was told, “You aren’t in Kansas anymore.”

The pieces are sliding into place, whether you like it or not you are seeing yourself more clearly. The Moon will hit Aries, and Venus will enter Aquarius today with Jupiter opposing Uranus. This may allow you to shift out of fantasy into reality with creativity on your side. In other words, it can be interesting, fun even, to see who you are. Surrender Dorothy! Surrender to the true nature of yourself. Do what you will with the flying monkeys because there is no place like home. Going home is a remembering of who you are; sometimes on the way there you might think you have forgotten who you are, but you are really remembering better who you have always been.

Things are moving fast behind the scenes right now. You might notice some sensations of this seeping in. It feels uncomfortable. It feels scary. And just so you know, closing your eyes won’t make it go away. In fact just the opposite is true.

I had a dream recently, really it was a nightmare. In the dream, I was met at every turn with perversity. And then I came to a crossroads of sorts. There were two doors. I had two choices. The door to my left was familiar to me. I knew it led to a place that went deeper and deeper into itself. I knew that if I walked the halls of that place, it would morph from a school, to a hospital, to a hotel. I knew that in that place I was always too late and then I always had to wait. That place was always changing, but it was always the same. In my dream I thought, “That place goes no where.”

The door to the right was substantial. It was made of solid old growth oak. It looked inviting, but as I got closer something didn’t feel right. In fact something felt terribly wrong. I turned around and looked from where I had come. That was no good either. The streets behind me were apocalyptic. I was stuck. I couldn’t go to the left, or the right, and I certainly couldn’t turn around.

I am in hell, I thought and the only possible way out was the way I was afraid to explore. I breathed deeply and carefully pushed the big door open just a crack. Yep. As I suspected it was utter and complete darkness, an eternity of pitch black. I looked back to the infernal streets filled with smoke from the fires of hell. There were malevolent people on the hills and zombies in the streets. I was at some edge of darkness. What choice did I have?

I stepped inside the door into the nothingness. There was nothing but nothing. There was nothing at my feet, I hovered in the blackness. Without something beneath my feet it was impossible to advance forward. My heart was racing and my breath was labored. “Breathe,” I told myself. “You can do this,” I counseled even in my sleep. I told myself, “Look into the darkness. Let yourself adjust and see what you can see.” And so I did.

Was there no hope?  Was I to be completely impoverished?  In the utter blackness, it was a horror show. It couldn’t have been worse if it had been Hieronymus Bosch’s Last Judgement. In my dream, I was paralyzed by the fear of some pointed reckoning that seemed to have an infinite trajectory. “Open your eyes,” I told myself. “If you want out of hell, open your eyes.”

The moon has shifted from Scorpio and into Sagittarius. In the thick of it there is always hope of a promising new reality. If the Scorpio energy has lured you deep into your own darkness, the New Moon in Sagittarius can signal you out into our own light. Pay attention with the acute senses of the blind, and then open your eyes to the information you have afforded yourself. See where you are. Find your feet even in the darkest of nights. Get good balance for perspective on your future.

There is no going back. There never was. The past only turns within itself and the future is only an idea of something not yet known. Don’t make it a nightmare. Don’t be an addict. Don’t hang out at crossroads for long. You can have more than two choices. Open your eyes to the dawn of this day. This is where you live your life. Not in the damnation of your past, not in the fear of the unknown future. Right here. Right now. Open your eyes. Open your eyes and move forward.

The work ahead is to heal the divide without becoming divided, and the transverse is giving us more then just two ways to do that. The Moon in Pisces, conjunct Neptune could have you feeling disappointed or confused. Saturn in Sagittarius does its best to provide another way to think about things, but Mars in Aquarius objects, and is determined to protest and beat on a whole other drum.

I have been missing in action for a little bit. I went out to mend fences a few weeks ago and got caught up in a deep conversation about areodynamics with the dead. Today, I am making my way out of the rabbit hole. On landing, I see that things are the same and I see that they are different. I think my recent conversation may be helpful.

Life is composed of two seemingly opposed energies. We are taught to live life within the boundaries of these polarities. Am I right? Or am I wrong? What do you think? But it doesn’t matter what you think. What matters, is what you know.

Knowing, like “seeing,” is an intelligence that is acquired when the mind and the body communicate with each other and then with the rest of the transverse. So what do you notice that you know, what do you see? Do you notice a certain emotional experience around an intellectual inquiry? On my recent journey, I noticed that I was afraid to ask the very question I had set out to answer. I felt the fear in a tightening through my chest and the shortness of my breath. “Don’t ask unless you listen,” I was told. Hmm, I thought I could do it, but when it really came time, I knew I wasn’t ready. I could feel the weight of it. I was afraid to say what I wondered out loud.  I was afraid to make it a real query and not just an idea in my head. I knew that saying aloud would release it from the fantasy that I could control it’s outcome, it’s truth. I knew my expression of it would make it real.

I was afraid to listen. I was afraid to hear. I didn’t want to see what the future might hold. I hesitated to move forward. Fear attracts danger and I saw all the possible bad ways this could work out. And then I was told, “If you want to understand, you will have to look into it.” And I heard the words and knew that my quest could never be contained in the boundaries of some intellectual pursuit. What a drag. An idea is fine, but it would take more then musing to make it valuable. The last messenger, impatient or perhaps enthusiastic, shouted at me, “Get out of here, go! Go, go, go!”

Thrusted forward, back into the evolutionary game, up the rabbit hole and out of there. Back here, where Donald Trump is president and the weather in Boulder Colorado is sunny and some men are making a very dusty mess in my house, and Charlie our cat still has no teeth. See what I mean, some things are different and some things are the same.

1. It is not what you think that matters, it is what you know. 
2. Don’t ask, unless you listen. 
3. If you want to understand, you will have to look into it. 
4. Go forward in service of what really matters to you. 

Begin now. Embrace your human-ness while striving for the Divine. This will give you lift. It is not what you think that matters, it is what you know. It may be necessary to see what you think, and then see what you feel, and then see everything in between. If you want to know the answer to the question, you will have to listen to all the information. This will ground you. Sometimes, when things are complex, it is a drag. But that drag serves purpose, it creates a necessity to accept one thing while embracing another. The trajectory forward is found through the resistance of the two opposed energies. In this way, things aren’t always what they seem to be, and in that case, there is always room for things to be different.

Go into the rabbit hole. Travel into the strange trip of your life and be birthed again in the wisdom of greater knowing. Now see what you want to do about it.

Mars in Capricorn, Pluto in Scorpio, Uranus in Aries, and the Sun and Mercury in Libra! Holy cow and take me out to the ball game. I don’t care it I ever come back, as long as I can dance.

This continues to be one powerful moon cycle. Can the Cubs take the World Series? Has the curse of the goat been lifted? What about you? Do you think you’ll get a pony? Maybe the moon? Or does it seem your box of Cracker Jack is missing the prize?

Jupiter, with a heart bigger then life, magnified it all – the whole catsatrophe of living. Everything thing is bigger when it is magnified, opportunities and obstacles. So if you noticed it is a little dicey out there, there is good reason.

Electronics faltering, traffic lights failing, email problems, phone issues, never mind the madness it creates when you feel so disconnectedvor misunderstood. What’s up with all that? Remember deep ecology? That is what we are practicing here. Considering our lives from the cellular all the way out to the transversal.  This is not about astrology. This is about living your life in a world that is bigger then you think. It is so big, it  blows your mind. The good news is that sometimes it takes a shattered mind to really see things. You gotta come undone before you can put yourself together.

Where do you really fit in? Do you think you are suppose to fit in somewhere in particular? Is fitting in like finding a prize, if you don’t find it, you don’t fit in?  That is like living in a box.  There are only so many options in a box and usually boxes contain options that are similar.  In a box, you reduce your opportunities. This week consider that the abundance of the “disconnect” that is out there right now, may be of service to you. The fact that you are misunderstood might empower you to embrace the full catstrophe of your life. You might be able to adopt an outlook under these conditions that embodies awe and curiosity for the rich mess of life.  You might find that riding that unpredictable roller coaster ride with all its dilemmas, sorrows, joys, traumas, tragedies, and ironies, is living your life.

Love life.  All all of it, the full catastrophe of it. Don’t fake it like a sentimental greeting card.  Really love it.  Be courageous and love it.  Have a little of that vibration that in language is, “to hell with it all, let’s dance.”  Living your life is the ultimate of living life.

Not sure how to do it?  Start by breathing in for 4, hold for 2, and exhale for 6.  First, let yourself be fully alive in your own breath and then ask your self, “What do I want to do now?”  Now, go do it!!!

By October 16th the Full Moon will have risen in Aries tightly conjunct Uranus. There is good potential to unexpectedly set fire to the past. When this kind of energy erupts, you have a choice. You can see things one way or you might consider another.  Mind letting this kind of energy hijack your good sense about who you really are and who you really want to be.

Do you want to burn down the house and everything with it? Or would you like to burn through your own resistance and rise like a phoenix from the ashes?  What do you want to do when you see someone else fired up?  What happens when you witness the melt down of another?

Where is your anger these days? Anger is the most misunderstood of the emotions. It is the emotional experience that has been grossly distorted.  It’s healthy vibration has been shamed into submission, rendering the free will impaired and obliged to sometimes do something other than what we may think is “right.” If you were free to do what you really wanted to do, what would you do? Could you allow the vibration of anger (the truth to defend the reason to exist) to transform your reality from one of burden to one of possibility?  It only takes a little, it is a mighty powerful vibration. Just a dab will do you.

For clarification, I am not referring to the constructed cultural definition of anger. The one you were likely raised on. The one that you were taught is “bad.” That one that is a distortion of the truth of anger and is constructed out of a surplus of unexpressed anger. When anger goes unexpressed, it can not be utilized and instead is stored. A store of anger will eventually become burdensome and like all burdens, it will find a release.  It will seep out sideways and present as passive aggression or it will blow your top off in an explosion of rage.  But when expressed as it is incited and not stored,  the vibration of anger is dynamic, directive, and protective.

Can you believe in transcendence?  Can you think it may be possible to shift your reality through intentional living?  Can you consider that to be fully alive requires a smidgen of the afore mentioned fiery vibration, the one that declares, “It is perfectly fine for me to live a wholesome life.”

This week, consider rebelling against your past beliefs. Think about what other options you might have. Feel what it is like to think about living with intention. Be as alive as you (already) are. Feel the desire to be more of what you already are. Open up to the natural laws and spiritual beliefs that declare you valuable as an intricate part of something greater than yourself. See if you can think that if you are a part of a whole, you are whole in the part you play.  What does that feel like?  A little fire in the belly?

What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and throw a lasso around it and pull it down. You can have the moon. The moon, a pony, what are we talking about here? Are we talking about what you want or are we talking about what you fantasize about wanting.

Hm, big difference.

This week is a good time to sort some things out, especially where the desire for love is concerned. Remember love? The truth of love is way bigger than the moon. It has a far greater reach then the child within you ever imagined, and yet love can be as easy eating candy.

The Moon and Venus are conjunct in Scorpio and trine Neptune in Pisces while Pluto is in Capricorn. Let this aspect support an interesting perspective as you consider your heart’s desire. Notice your typically fixed pattern of behavior in response to the stimuli of “love.” Is your response driven by your sensitivity? Is it something you can feel right now? Or is it more motivated by your practicality? Is it something you think about?

Does it compel you into a mental and emotional frenzy around the acquisition of it?  Some might say this could feel like walking a tight rope. And some might think that this compulsion threatens them with a fall from grace. And you know what happens when a person thinks they will fall.

This week, bridge the gap between what you think, feel, and desire. How can you bring the three experience together in a way that is useful to you?  It might go something like this:

I want to feel connected.  I want to feel like I belong where I am. I know that feeling. I think it is useful and it compels me to seek it out, finding a thread of it here and length of it there. Pretty soon my instinct for roping it in is pretty good.

Sort it out. What do you want? What do you fantasize about? Can you make them come into balance?

We have a New Moon in Libra on Friday.  Jupiter is conjunct the Sun and Moon while Saturn in Sagittarius sextiles Jupiter and the New Moon. Under this aspect you may have greater ease influencing your future. Your fortune cookie might read something like, “Person who believes in a bright future, will brighten the future.”

What are you thinking these days? What do you belief about yourself? What are you thinking about yourself in relationship to others? Under this influence of a New Moon in Libra with Jupiter conjunct the Sun and the Moon, it is like your dad and mom are all for your grandpa getting you a pony. Everybody is happy!

If you could have “your” pony, what kind of a pony would you want? This is a time to be extra thoughtful about what you want. Think about it. What do you want? Mind considering what you don’t want, or you could end up disappointed. Clear out any unhelpful ideas. If it is possible to have your heart’s desire, do you really want to doubt it? If it is at all possible to find satisfaction, do you really want to believe that satisfaction isn’t for you?  If love is out there for the taking, do you really want to pass it up?

Decide what you want. Get out of your head and drop into your body. Feel how much you want to feel Jupiter’s optimism grow in you heart.  Breath it in and let it grow.  Consider that the Sun and the Moon only want you to flourish. Feel the support of the multiverse. Really feel those sensations of great possibility.  What do they feel like in your body?

Mirror those sensations outward and allow for them to be mirrored back to you. Open up to the greatness of yourself and be as generous as Jupiter sharing yourself with others. Strengthen your relationships through what you can do. A kind word to the person checking your groceries; hold the door for another; assist someone struggling with a cumbersome parcel. Forget about what someone else can do for you. See what you have to offer others.  Leave room for it to eventually be mirrored back to you.

Take this opportunity to build a healthy foundation for the reality that you want to create over the next 30 days. This time, let your desire construct a foundation that is made sturdy by the truth of who you really are and not what you fear. Let the foundation be made in the trust that if  you love yourself you will attract others who love you too.  Then see what you’ve built for yourself in 30 days time.

Freud proposed that we, the dreamer, are all the players in our dreams. Each player representing a different part of the self, demonstrating to us our internal workings around a particular problem. You don’t have to wait to dream to reveal to yourself the ways you might be defending against yourself.

We have a full Moon lunar eclipse in Pisces on Friday with Mars in Sagittarius squaring the Sun and the Moon. The plot of that story goes something like this:

A person begins something new that is meant to expand their “love” horizon. Now before you think this post is not for you because you are not looking to expand your love horizons, let me respectfully correct you. We are all always looking for love. Remember the 6 different kinds of love that compose the vibration of love?  If you need a refresher, click here.  And now back to our story.

A person begins something new in order to expand their love connection.  A new way of thinking will likely be the foundation that the person will lean into while building the new thing that is intended to provide them with an expanded love connection. (If you are confused as to why the foundation of a new beginning requires a change in thinking, see me after class.) So the person is beginning anew, and the person imagines that this anew will provide them meaningful structure to their life. The way a relationship to anyone or anything can do – even a relationship with your self. But in this story the person struggles to prevail. They are caught between what seems like common sense and what seems like desire. Seem familiar?

Who are you in this story? Are you the main character, the one struggling to prevail over the deception of the antagonist?  Or are you the antagonist, the one fueling the battle between common sense and desire? Could you be the character of influence, the fool, the one who challenges, but ultimately supports the main character’s strife? Are you a sidekick, a good old pal, but just along for the ride? How might you be working against yourself in the story line and how might that be aiding you?  Rest assured that there is some faction of yourself fighting you. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, after all dissension in a group can affirm that a decision was made with all the information and not just the information you wanted to see.

Write down what you are wanting to create. Then list your struggles to prevail, noting with each struggle the considerations to common sense and desire. Now, cast yourself in all the parts. Any victims or martyrs lurking beneath?  Are there any super heros?  Are there roles that are indifferent to the struggle, but interested in the journey?  How does this story best resolve itself if the main character succeeds and feels satisfied about their success?  Might the story take an expected turn of events?

During the Full Moon, let your main character throw a spotlight on your fears and insecurities and look to your unconscious mind to bring out other parts of yourself to help you overcome the adversity you might be facing. Let this be an opportunity to marry your beliefs to your desires in a way that you can journey forward in your own story.  This full moon, forgive yourself for being human and seemingly falling short of your dreams.  It is never to late to edit!

Mercury went retrograde this week and I am already having issues with communication.  I understood tht Mercury was going retrograde.  I saw it on my calendar and very matter of factly I thought, “Okay, so this is going to happen and now I am prepared.” And, like white on rice, and, as sure as the day is long, there was trouble.  It started first with my email correspondances, expanded to other aspects of my Comcast service, and then progressed into my communication with a human being at Comcast.  I was surprised at how I felt by the end of the day.  I figured that since I had thought about the retrograde, I wouldn’t feel so much about what might occur during the retrograde. Afterall, I had thought about it. Silly me.

I understand that a human being thinks between 40,000 – 70,000 thoughts a day. I understand that those very thoughts inform the emotions that a human being experiences. I understand that those emotional experiences inform a human being’s physiology.  I understand that a human being’s physiology inspires their reality. I understand it, but sometimes I don’t know it.

Hmm, pause for consideration.

The difference between understanding something and knowing it is profound. Understanding something requires the acquisition of information in order to arrange it into a logical sequence that can then be determined reasonable. So, it is true that I do understand the scientific, as well as the practical applications of the above described process. But sometimes I don’t “know” it. Sometimes I forget to live my life alive in my body, and instead I think my way through my life as if it is a reasonable journey in my head. That is when there is trouble.

We are shifting today into a Sun, Saturn, Neptune square. What does that mean? It means that if you are the betting kind, you can bet that my ego has better than 50/50 odds of getting in my way.

Now, this has never happened to me before. My ego has never gotten the best of me.  I have never thought I knew exactly how something would go, and then lived like my reasoning was the God’s honest truth. I mean, I am always a very thoughtful person. I am sure that earlier this week when the Comcast service wouldn’t work and it became clear that I would have to call Comcast, that I understood that it would be a long drawn-out battle of wits regarding the trouble. And I understood all of that even before I punched the number in my phone.  I understood that there would be a prompt for my personal information that would be repeated by an operator and then again repeated by the person of higher authority that I would be transferred to 20 minutes into the call. I understood all of that. I did. I understood the reality of my life the instance my service faultered.  I understood everything.

But did I know?  Did I feel my anxiety at the first indication of trouble and allow my brain with my body to process that anxiety?  Did I feel the steady rise of my blood pressure through out the 40 minute call and allow my brain with my body to process my anger?  Did I feel the heartfelt sadness that inspired ruminating thoughts about Comcast well past the restoration of my service and allow my brain with my body to process the sorrow of a break in communication?  Nope.  I sure didn’t.  I was in my head where I think I know everything, but I really know nothing.

I was in my head where I think too much about thinking about it.  I was in my head where I pay little attention to how I feel. If I had paid attention to my thoughts and my feelings, I would have known that without more consciousness, the call would likely be tough.  I would have known that without more consciousness, the call could be just as I thought it to be.  If I had paid better attention to what I thought, how I emoted, and the sensations in my body, I may have known that I was already well into playing my part in creating a dissatisfactory experience for myself.  The experience where I think, “this is trouble,” then I feel afraid, then I think “this won’t go well,” then I feel angry, then I act defensively, then I think repeatedly, “is it me or is it them?” and then I feel sad and disconnected. If I had known more information instead of only thinking I understood, I might have known that it was in my best interest to shift into a more comfortable position before getting on that Comcast bus.

Moving forward: 1. Mind your nevers and always. 2. Mind the size of your britches – just because you think it, doesn’t make it real. 3. Let yourself feel the way you feel. 4. Trust that there is a wealth of information in your emotions and sensations in your body.  5. Let your thoughts, emotions, and sensations in your body show you more then you think.

Go ahead.  Know more than you think you do?  Now what do you want to do about your call to Comcast?

I am getting this out early this week to give you plenty of time to find the thing that supports you. The moon is in Taurus and that is something you can count on. Like the steady pull of gravity, sometimes something so strong and reliable can feel like a drag, but you’ve gotta admit that you are glad it is there.

Whatever you find your reliable thing to be, your job, your neighbor, your cat, your family, your creativity, your history, whatever it is, take this week to see it through the lens of love. The Greeks defined love in terms of 6 kinds of love.  Use the coming universal weather to help you deepen your understanding of love.

With the moon in Taurus let yourself lean into something that clearly supports you and then see how many of the Greek aspects of love you can experience in this thing. Enjoy what you learn. Feel the truth of it. In a short time we will experience the mutable T-square that includes the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter in Virgo. Remember the movie One flew over the cuckoos nest? Now is the time to get ahead of your Nurse Ratched, mind the lessons from Mr. McMurphy and consider that the artist Rene Magritte asks you to consider things may not be what they seem to be.
