The-moon's-gravitational-force-Artwork by T. Boehle “The moon’s gravitational force”

I am in a plane headed out to a place far enough away that the fastest means of transportation is the air. I going somewhere else to re-boot, relax, and literally get a new perspective. There was a time when doing such involved wee morning hours of cooking a fabulous picnic and loading up in a horse-powered buggy destined for the countryside.

It wasn’t easy getting here. The morning had an interesting start. The seemingly near Chinook winds kept me up most of the night, whipping in through the cat door. The flap of it flapping and papers blowing about our bedroom all night. It was spooky. In and out of sleep, the sounds reconciled in that half-wit state as haunted. In the morning I woke tired, fully awakened by an eight foot by four foot painting crashing off the wall, smashing its frame to smithereens. The bus to the airport made unexpected stops and at the airport my boarding pass wouldn’t scan so, despite my TSA-Pre standing, it was back to check-in again for a new pass. We raced through the airport and salvaged the plan of eating breakfast at Root Down by getting carry out for the plane, and arrived just in time to board when someone over the load speaker said our flight was delayed and hour and a half!

Hmm. My resources are low. I think of my kids, get out my phone and text them: “Flight delayed. Be safe. I love you.” I am tired and, honestly, the fitful night’s sleep provided the perfect backdrop for thinking about scary stuff despite the fact that there wasn’t really anything more scary then Colorado winds. But what about the painting? That is weird and, furthermore, that painting signified to me a deep understanding of myself, the universe, and me in the universe. And, really? The boarding pass doesn’t scan and then the plane has mechanical problems?

But I have done this before, gotten myself worked up about the secret meaning of things. There is a big difference between intuition and anxiety. Yes, it does seem my ability to get where I am going is slowed, and whenever the expected becomes the unexpected the cognitive brain sets about to solve the mystery, and usually from the worst-case scenario. All, of course, in an effort at self-preservation. And, ironically, the impetus for that can, and after years of practice, does bring my attention to the goodness in my life. The wind, stirring things up, relentless to not let lying dogs sleep. I love that fury and determination. The painting jumping off the wall and crashing straight to the floor like a declaration, “Remember there are no happy chances, only the infinite opportunity to create them.” The resistance met at getting to the gate, the delayed plane all reminders of three things:

  1. There is no control. Control is an illusion.
  2. Influence is the powerful force behind the smoke and mirrors of control.
  3. Things aren’t always what they seem to be.

I will be on terra firma soon enough, and I trust I will have a deeply satisfying experience, because once I get out of my own fearful way I can see that I can always be heading in the direction of where I want to be. Where I am isn’t where I am headed; it is only from which I am starting.

The March 12th Full Moon in Virgo is pulling a lot of big pieces together and bringing them down to Earth. It is a good vibration for healing some stuff way out there in your past. Think about it this way, you can think about yourself or you can think about your self as a part the whole. This can be very enlightening. Mind getting spooked, trust that it is not always and might be nearly never about you alone. Find the value where you can, re-evaluate your route, and keep on keeping on.

I am retarded right now. Hold on, before my declarations gets your hackles up, hear me out. Retard: transitive verb meaning to slow up especially by preventing or hindering advance or accomplishment. But, you might say, as I did think, why use such a loaded word. Load: noun meaning something that weighs down the mind or spirits, a burdensome or laborious responsibility. No, this is not going to be vocabulary lesson, but right now it seems really important to be clear. I am using a word that burdens the mind and spirit and provides a burdensome responsibility because I want you to know that I am currently hindering my own advance and it is of my own doing.

Why would I do that? Well, first of all because I can, and second, because I am afraid. Yep, I am afraid, so I am gonna slow this train down and ride a donkey instead. Seemed like a good idea and it came quite natural to me; that tells me it is something I am good at. But I want to admit to you that when I first did it, I didn’t do it consciously.  It wasn’t until my world began to feel small and a little bit more than scary that I noticed what I had done. I had disconnected.

Yep, unplugged from the greater vibration that does in fact provide me with more information to resolve my internal and external dilemmas. Looking back on it, I can now see how I did it. Seriously robed in black, I stepped out of my chambers up onto my bench and began judging. I scoured the gallery with the eyes and nose of a vigilant rabbit on the lookout for crazy coyotes. And employed with such responsibility you can bet I began to spot them. Low and behold, it was like I was attracting them. That is when I started to think, “Hold on here, what is really going on? How come all I can see is danger? What happened to my peace of mind?”

I love donkeys. Those of you who know me well know that I tended for years a whole herd of those brilliant, kind, and stubborn creatures; but they aren’t the best for riding. So, I am climbing off and getting back on the bus. I am going to sit up front because I want to see where I am going, but right now I am not going to drive. I am going to take the opportunity to rest and remember how to trust in the greater good that, by the way, includes myself.

The Moon is in Mercury in Aquarius today. It may help the uncomfortable feelings from the tight thinking that you may have been expereinceing lately. It is a good time to see the ways you might be attached to the Venus, Mars, Uranus stellium in Aries that is causing fear to incite anger and judgment.  Now is the time because we have a Mercury in Pisces shift coming with the New Moon solar eclipse in Neptune. It is going get emotional.  So do yourself a favor and get ahead of the pack.  Detach from the anger and judgment and intentionally align with that which resonates with the goodness in you. Feel yourself.  Feel the truth of who you really are and not what you think you should be. That is a heavy load even for a pack mule.

Get unburdened. Bring your attention to the ways you are creating a heavy load. Take a look at the map and see where you WANT to go.  Get on the bus headed in that direction. Trust that you might be in good company and that it is safe to take a snooze. Once you are well rested, it is perfectly fine to take the wheel.

originalThese days it may seem as if it has never been truer that the probability of survival is equal to the angle of arrival.  While it may have been said that flying is the second greatest thrill known to humans, landing is the first!

We have a lunar eclipse pending in Leo tonight. I am looking forward to it. I could use a lift from the same old news and Leo is just the creative entrepreneur I want when I am figuring how to get around the turbulence of my old patterns and history.

Saturn is aspected in Sagittarius for this eclipse. Argh!  What a drag.  My “around the world, free as a bird, solo flight” will now be chaperoned with the harsh  judgments of a “straighten up and fly right” kind of bird.  This is going to require some major wind beneath my wings in order to make any progress.

I hear you, why is there always a drag? I know, who wants a drag?  But that drag serves purpose in the aerodynamics of ascension.  It creates a necessity to welcome one thing while embracing another. The trajectory forward is found through the resistance of the two opposed energies. The resistance can provide balance until we have momentum in what can be, the choppy blue yonder.

Mind feeling that resistance as a force against you, particularly one that you imagine you need to defend yourself from.  Instead, remember that the resistance is going to allow you to move forward.  It is not what you think.  It is not holding you back, it is there to get you up and going!

This month, consider practicing in tandem with the resistance and take off and land from the high ground.

  1. Change your mind to feel comfortable with the benefits of resistance.
  2. Mind thinking about changing other people’s minds until you have changed yours.
  3. Get clear AND curious (no judgment) about what you want.
  4. Simotaneously respect your ideas and those that seemingly oppose your ideas.
  5. Find the tension between the seemingly opposed and utilize that tension as common ground for take off and landing.

Afterall, flying is undoubtedly an adventure in discovery, but a good take off and a safe landing can’t be beat.

screen-shot-2013-12-02-at-09-28-43-554x523Parting is such sweet sorrow. There is so much desire in the ending of something. The desire to create something new. The desire to return to something unfinished. The desire for change. Desire is the catalyst for creation. When desire operates from a space of love the creation is charged with great significance and embodied with both humanity and divinity.

The planets are aligned under the new moon cycle to provide you with great wisdom at the turning over of time from 2016 to 2017. Use this as an awakening for a great and deliberate desire to make something that makes the world spin steadily on her axis. Deliver into the New Year a perspective that inspires.

That’s all. That is it. That is all I have to say. Go on now. Go do it.

I’ll see you doing it in 2017. I will be beside you doing it, too!  Together we’ll take that cup of kindness for all of auld lang syne and make a meaningful future of it.

lonely-eleanorIt is here!  The full moon in Taurus came in Monday morning. Chiron in Pisces supported the Moon while the Sun in Scorpio opposed it. Sometimes polarized energies support a wealth of opportunity in what can go unnoticed as the space between. There is no option in one choice and there only two options in two choices, but the distance between two options is abundance.

This full moon finishes up some old, stubborn beliefs about how to play well with others around the concepts of love and money. You may desire to feel deeply wounded about how this plays out. But rest confidently assured that the light will illuminate some deep, and possibly obsessive, pathological tendency on your part to self-sacrifice. You might be about to come face-to-face with your fatal flaw. But does it have to be fatal? Life is filled with considerations about life and death, junctures of consternation that demand internal examination in order to evolve.

Imagine yourself the leading character in a story where you are struggling to succeed. A good story always includes the hero and their struggle to succeed. What gets in your way of doing what you want to do? At the root of most (maybe all) fatal flaws is hubris, but it might not look the way you think. Hubris or pride may be the foundation of your fatal flaw in a way you don’t recognize.

Take George Bailey’s ability to put the needs of others ahead of his own needs. How could this possibly be pride-filled?  But this self-sacrificing behavior provides George with great purpose – initially. I add that qualifier because, in time, the very thing that made George a compassionate man eventually makes him bitter and resentful.  Yet he continuous to sacrifice himself for what he beliefs is the greater benefit to others. In this process he becomes fixed on being “a good person,” and other aspects of himself, like his desire to affect his own destiny, become suppressed. As an observer, it seems unnecessary that George should only find reconciliation in annihilation.  But in order for George to live, he must die the death of his fatal flaw. He must come face to face with the flawed perception that he is all used up by others, when he has really used himself up through his hidden hubris.

Look yourself in the mirror this Full Moon. See your fatal flaw. It is your struggle to maintain a survival system that has outlived its usefulness. It is okay to let it go, even if it appears to mean defeat. Trust that you can rebirth yourself into the contemporary. Let go of past agreements that bind you from your free will and perpetuate a compulsion to be loyal to the past, as if your worth or goodness is stuck in time.

You might be seeing your tragic flaw as a moral dilemma but,  when reconciled, this dilemma can redeem you and free you from your human capacity to make life a struggle. Go ahead and see your flaw as cathartic. Let it have purpose that transcends you more deeply into your worth or value.  Let the fear of failure guide you through a catharsis and learn that you are greater then you think you are.

The work ahead is to heal the divide without becoming divided, and the transverse is giving us more then just two ways to do that. The Moon in Pisces, conjunct Neptune could have you feeling disappointed or confused. Saturn in Sagittarius does its best to provide another way to think about things, but Mars in Aquarius objects, and is determined to protest and beat on a whole other drum.

I have been missing in action for a little bit. I went out to mend fences a few weeks ago and got caught up in a deep conversation about areodynamics with the dead. Today, I am making my way out of the rabbit hole. On landing, I see that things are the same and I see that they are different. I think my recent conversation may be helpful.

Life is composed of two seemingly opposed energies. We are taught to live life within the boundaries of these polarities. Am I right? Or am I wrong? What do you think? But it doesn’t matter what you think. What matters, is what you know.

Knowing, like “seeing,” is an intelligence that is acquired when the mind and the body communicate with each other and then with the rest of the transverse. So what do you notice that you know, what do you see? Do you notice a certain emotional experience around an intellectual inquiry? On my recent journey, I noticed that I was afraid to ask the very question I had set out to answer. I felt the fear in a tightening through my chest and the shortness of my breath. “Don’t ask unless you listen,” I was told. Hmm, I thought I could do it, but when it really came time, I knew I wasn’t ready. I could feel the weight of it. I was afraid to say what I wondered out loud.  I was afraid to make it a real query and not just an idea in my head. I knew that saying aloud would release it from the fantasy that I could control it’s outcome, it’s truth. I knew my expression of it would make it real.

I was afraid to listen. I was afraid to hear. I didn’t want to see what the future might hold. I hesitated to move forward. Fear attracts danger and I saw all the possible bad ways this could work out. And then I was told, “If you want to understand, you will have to look into it.” And I heard the words and knew that my quest could never be contained in the boundaries of some intellectual pursuit. What a drag. An idea is fine, but it would take more then musing to make it valuable. The last messenger, impatient or perhaps enthusiastic, shouted at me, “Get out of here, go! Go, go, go!”

Thrusted forward, back into the evolutionary game, up the rabbit hole and out of there. Back here, where Donald Trump is president and the weather in Boulder Colorado is sunny and some men are making a very dusty mess in my house, and Charlie our cat still has no teeth. See what I mean, some things are different and some things are the same.

1. It is not what you think that matters, it is what you know.
2. Don’t ask, unless you listen.
3. If you want to understand, you will have to look into it.
4. Go forward in service of what really matters to you.

Begin now. Embrace your human-ness while striving for the Divine. This will give you lift. It is not what you think that matters, it is what you know. It may be necessary to see what you think, and then see what you feel, and then see everything in between. If you want to know the answer to the question, you will have to listen to all the information. This will ground you. Sometimes, when things are complex, it is a drag. But that drag serves purpose, it creates a necessity to accept one thing while embracing another. The trajectory forward is found through the resistance of the two opposed energies. In this way, things aren’t always what they seem to be, and in that case, there is always room for things to be different.

Go into the rabbit hole. Travel into the strange trip of your life and be birthed again in the wisdom of greater knowing. Now see what you want to do about it.

We have a New Moon in Libra on Friday.  Jupiter is conjunct the Sun and Moon while Saturn in Sagittarius sextiles Jupiter and the New Moon. Under this aspect you may have greater ease influencing your future. Your fortune cookie might read something like, “Person who believes in a bright future, will brighten the future.”

What are you thinking these days? What do you belief about yourself? What are you thinking about yourself in relationship to others? Under this influence of a New Moon in Libra with Jupiter conjunct the Sun and the Moon, it is like your dad and mom are all for your grandpa getting you a pony. Everybody is happy!

If you could have “your” pony, what kind of a pony would you want? This is a time to be extra thoughtful about what you want. Think about it. What do you want? Mind considering what you don’t want, or you could end up disappointed. Clear out any unhelpful ideas. If it is possible to have your heart’s desire, do you really want to doubt it? If it is at all possible to find satisfaction, do you really want to believe that satisfaction isn’t for you?  If love is out there for the taking, do you really want to pass it up?

Decide what you want. Get out of your head and drop into your body. Feel how much you want to feel Jupiter’s optimism grow in you heart.  Breath it in and let it grow.  Consider that the Sun and the Moon only want you to flourish. Feel the support of the multiverse. Really feel those sensations of great possibility.  What do they feel like in your body?

Mirror those sensations outward and allow for them to be mirrored back to you. Open up to the greatness of yourself and be as generous as Jupiter sharing yourself with others. Strengthen your relationships through what you can do. A kind word to the person checking your groceries; hold the door for another; assist someone struggling with a cumbersome parcel. Forget about what someone else can do for you. See what you have to offer others.  Leave room for it to eventually be mirrored back to you.

Take this opportunity to build a healthy foundation for the reality that you want to create over the next 30 days. This time, let your desire construct a foundation that is made sturdy by the truth of who you really are and not what you fear. Let the foundation be made in the trust that if  you love yourself you will attract others who love you too.  Then see what you’ve built for yourself in 30 days time.

Mercury went retrograde this week and I am already having issues with communication.  I understood tht Mercury was going retrograde.  I saw it on my calendar and very matter of factly I thought, “Okay, so this is going to happen and now I am prepared.” And, like white on rice, and, as sure as the day is long, there was trouble.  It started first with my email correspondances, expanded to other aspects of my Comcast service, and then progressed into my communication with a human being at Comcast.  I was surprised at how I felt by the end of the day.  I figured that since I had thought about the retrograde, I wouldn’t feel so much about what might occur during the retrograde. Afterall, I had thought about it. Silly me.

I understand that a human being thinks between 40,000 – 70,000 thoughts a day. I understand that those very thoughts inform the emotions that a human being experiences. I understand that those emotional experiences inform a human being’s physiology.  I understand that a human being’s physiology inspires their reality. I understand it, but sometimes I don’t know it.

Hmm, pause for consideration.

The difference between understanding something and knowing it is profound. Understanding something requires the acquisition of information in order to arrange it into a logical sequence that can then be determined reasonable. So, it is true that I do understand the scientific, as well as the practical applications of the above described process. But sometimes I don’t “know” it. Sometimes I forget to live my life alive in my body, and instead I think my way through my life as if it is a reasonable journey in my head. That is when there is trouble.

We are shifting today into a Sun, Saturn, Neptune square. What does that mean? It means that if you are the betting kind, you can bet that my ego has better than 50/50 odds of getting in my way.

Now, this has never happened to me before. My ego has never gotten the best of me.  I have never thought I knew exactly how something would go, and then lived like my reasoning was the God’s honest truth. I mean, I am always a very thoughtful person. I am sure that earlier this week when the Comcast service wouldn’t work and it became clear that I would have to call Comcast, that I understood that it would be a long drawn-out battle of wits regarding the trouble. And I understood all of that even before I punched the number in my phone.  I understood that there would be a prompt for my personal information that would be repeated by an operator and then again repeated by the person of higher authority that I would be transferred to 20 minutes into the call. I understood all of that. I did. I understood the reality of my life the instance my service faultered.  I understood everything.

But did I know?  Did I feel my anxiety at the first indication of trouble and allow my brain with my body to process that anxiety?  Did I feel the steady rise of my blood pressure through out the 40 minute call and allow my brain with my body to process my anger?  Did I feel the heartfelt sadness that inspired ruminating thoughts about Comcast well past the restoration of my service and allow my brain with my body to process the sorrow of a break in communication?  Nope.  I sure didn’t.  I was in my head where I think I know everything, but I really know nothing.

I was in my head where I think too much about thinking about it.  I was in my head where I pay little attention to how I feel. If I had paid attention to my thoughts and my feelings, I would have known that without more consciousness, the call would likely be tough.  I would have known that without more consciousness, the call could be just as I thought it to be.  If I had paid better attention to what I thought, how I emoted, and the sensations in my body, I may have known that I was already well into playing my part in creating a dissatisfactory experience for myself.  The experience where I think, “this is trouble,” then I feel afraid, then I think “this won’t go well,” then I feel angry, then I act defensively, then I think repeatedly, “is it me or is it them?” and then I feel sad and disconnected. If I had known more information instead of only thinking I understood, I might have known that it was in my best interest to shift into a more comfortable position before getting on that Comcast bus.

Moving forward: 1. Mind your nevers and always. 2. Mind the size of your britches – just because you think it, doesn’t make it real. 3. Let yourself feel the way you feel. 4. Trust that there is a wealth of information in your emotions and sensations in your body.  5. Let your thoughts, emotions, and sensations in your body show you more then you think.

Go ahead.  Know more than you think you do?  Now what do you want to do about your call to Comcast?

Note for those of you waiting in line at the Love Shack:
I am pulling double duty on this one and if you want you can too. Are you working Operation Love? If so, re-read this through the lens of love and have the Greeks by your side. What perceived notions do you have about yourself concerning love? Do you believe them? Are they real or do you believe (think) they are real? Now, forget about what you think. What do you feel about what the Greek Chorus has to say? Now what do you know?

I am getting this out early this week to give you plenty of time to find the thing that supports you. The moon is in Taurus and that is something you can count on. Like the steady pull of gravity, sometimes something so strong and reliable can feel like a drag, but you’ve gotta admit that you are glad it is there.

Whatever you find your reliable thing to be, your job, your neighbor, your cat, your family, your creativity, your history, whatever it is, take this week to see it through the lens of love. If you need, you can refer to my post called Love after the Neptune fog clears. The Greeks defined love in terms of 6 kinds of love.  Use the coming universal weather to help you deepen your understanding of love.

With the moon in Taurus let yourself lean into something that clearly supports you and then see how many of the Greek aspects of love you can experience in this thing. Enjoy what you learn. Feel the truth of it. In a short time we will experience the mutable T-square that includes the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter in Virgo. Remember the movie One flew over the cuckoos nest? Now is the time to get ahead of your Nurse Ratched, mind the lessons from Mr. McMurphy and consider that the artist Rene Magritte asks you to consider things may not be what they seem to be.

We are over the new moon now, or, as Pink Floyd sang in 1973, the dark side of the moon. Now is a good time to take care with your communications. In fact, with the influence of Virgo you might even say it is critical. Let Neptune help you connect to your intuition and communicate what you might be scared of admitting.

Lately, much has been coming up around relationships. This can be a time that a lot of us are renegotiating those silent agreements that we have made with others. All relationships are based on agreements, but those most troublesome are the agreements that we do not voice. The ones we make unconsciously tend to more binding for us.

Let me take a minute to talk a little bit about loyalty. It is a good time to investigate your own loyalties as we head into the influence of Leo. Loyalty is a virtue, right? Josiah Royce suggests that loyalty is, “the heart of all the virtues, the central duty amongst all the duties.” He proposes, acording to Wikipedia, that it is the basic moral principle from which all other principles are derived.  He goes on to say that loyalty is “the willing and ongoing devotion of a person to a cause that it is not merely a casual interest, but a wholehearted commitment to the cause.”

Wow, sounds good. Basic moral principle, wholehearted commitment, that is good stuff, right?  But I would like you to consider how you might be wired to interpret loyalty.  Within your DNA you may carry the understanding of the word loyalty as it first relaties to the litteral and collective agreement of servitude between a King and his dutiful people. In that first loyalty there was no room for dispute, or even disagreement. If you haven’t done an update recently on loyalty, it may still be programmed in your cognitive brain as a dutiful agreement to something that is NOW in the past. Remember the present is constantly slipping into the past as it proceeds into the future. So any loyalty you have is an agreement to the past.

Now it is fine to be loyal.  In fact, it may be helpful, but my point is that it is only serviceable to the greater good when it is made and kept through your free will.  In other words, it is only useful to the greater good if you want to be loyal.  Consider that loyalty is an abstract quality that may not be physically possible and is more serviceable when viewed as a state of mind or attitude. Any agreements you make are best served from a good attitude or state of mind that includes your free will, and is free of suggestions that compel your behavior.

Right now the universal weather, in the ethers and on planet Earth, is ripe for renegotiation of relationships. Those with yourself, with people, with creatures, with the planet, with your past, with your future.  You name it and you have good support right now for renegotiation. It doesn’t have to be us and them.  We don’t necessarily have to fight change.

Use this time well. Communicate clearly using an assertive communication style. Express your thoughts when you are clear how they resonate with your emotions. Do they match? Or are there inconsistencies in what you think and what you emote? Are you not sure what you emote? What does your body tell you through it’s sensations? Are you sick to your stomach, is you heart racing ahead? Get to the bottom of the inconsistencies? What have you agreed to that undermines your basic sense of self? When you know these answers, you will know the foundation of the problem.  And you will likely have arrived at some past loyalty that no longer serves your best interest or the best interest of those around you.

Get some perspective. Can you ground yourself in the belief that life is a process and not a product? It is to be experienced. It is messy and always welcomes a bit of tidying up. Bring some balance to your life.

Go ahead and clean up those old agreements that are holding you to relationships that are loyal to past beliefs. Respect yourself, respect the other, and renegotiate the old terms. No need to necessarily throw the baby out with the bath water. It is okay. In the end, night follows day and day follows night. It is as it is. Be present to that NOW.
